My Insights on Twitch
Many people ask how I started off streaming. If you know me from Twitch, then you know one thing:
EMOTES! I went to Krita and banged out the best I could think of. They really reflected the climate of what my stream was like then. My stream then convinced me to get a discord (which I had no idea what to do with for a while) and other things like actually getting my panels done properly. Over time, we gathered more and more people. Hitting my first 200 followers was a big deal for me! I decided we needed to take it up a notch and gather more equipment for stream quality -- Lights, camera, Mixer. And the Byte Command hit the goal every time. I was floored when a PS4 landed on my door, like how is everyone on this platform so supportive??? I'm still speechless about these things. They show me what crazy things people can accomplish when they come together!
Make sure to follow me on all platforms if your looking for more of the Byte command!
I Love To Talk.
So after moving to Cali with virtually no connections whatsoever, I was desperate for some human contact. In June, I got my phone, set up on my patio, and streamed for 2 hours. I talked to anyone and everyone who came in. I usually had long conversations with one or two people at a time. (That's how I learned about Ragamuffin Cats). I decided to make the stream more personal and got my webcam and my mic and set up OBS on my computer (I had one at the time). We'd sit and talk while I worked on cosplay with literal elevator music playing in the background.
Looking back, I can't believe people actually entertained that madness. Around this time it had been a couple of weeks, and we had reached affiliate together with my band of 7 viewers. Definitely good times.
Insane support
After a while, I decided it was time to introduce some games. I couldn't just talk everyday, I thought that people would eventually find that boring. So I started with a game I had ALWAYS wanted to complete but never did: King's Quest. I was still learning how to balance an audience and play a game, so I got to work out my kinks here. Everyone was very polite and cool about it, save the odd troll that occasionally strolled in. One day, someone comes in and actually makes use of the sub button we just got. And I had no idea what that meant, I was like "Wha?? Thank you!?". And that honestly scared me because that was the moment streaming actually turned serious. It was no longer just some peeps comin to talk and keep me company, but now someone subscribing for more stuff like this. And that was a lot for me to think about later that day.Community
After more people started subscribing to me, I decided it was time to give them what they wanted:EMOTES! I went to Krita and banged out the best I could think of. The Bigger Picture
It's been about 10 months since the start, and we are 1,500+ strong! The Byte command has hit many milestones and will definitely grow stronger over time. I have decided to expand our family by reaching out into other platforms: Instagram, Youtube, Twitter, and Here! I've taken everyone efforts seriously since the first sub. I really want everyone to have a chance to experience this diverse and amazing group we have, because I really couldn't imagine a day without them. I'm hoping to roll out even bigger and better rewards for the Byte Command, after all they keep giving every day!Make sure to follow me on all platforms if your looking for more of the Byte command!
